France has agreed to start stopping small boats in the Channel, after months of insistence from the United Kingdom.

This policy shift follows the British leader wrote to the French leader asking him to support the plan and stating there currently "have no effective preventive measure" in the Channel.

French security forces have been authorized to stop the small boats at sea, but exclusively prior to they've collected their migrants, according to authoritative confirmation.

French authorities have infrequently acted to prevent the overcrowded boats departing from the shoreline because it is considered excessively high a danger to both officers and individuals.

"It is crucial that we implement these tactics this month... We have zero effective prevention in the Channel."

Now, a French naval police representative states personnel will start taking action at sea, with the objective of safeguarding lives.

Notably, the official ruled out the use of nets to intercept boats, which had previously been reported as a possible method to snarl the propellers of the boats.

This determination to intervene at all is a significant step forward, following a brief shift towards a more aggressive approach this summer, which dropped off when the previous government official left government.

This was demonstrated in July, preceding a summit between the Prime Minister and President, when French police were observed wading into the sea to slash the sides of a boat.

Now French officials will once more be permitted to intercept boats prior to they pick up migrant individuals from the beaches of France's north coast, although it's not clear how the small boats will be prevented.

Powerful gusts are currently delaying the commencement of intervention operations and the human trafficking gangs will be seeking ways to adapt to evade detection, as they have done so often in the previous instances.

The Home Office and Downing Street have been approached for comment.
